Obituary of Sylvia J. Yaskowski

Sylvia Yaskowski (nee Shapranas), 87, of Fairview Village, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017 surrounded by her children.

She was born August 24, 1929 to the late Francis and Sarah Shapranas of Philadelphia.

She married her teenage sweetheart Joseph and they enjoyed 61 years together. Joseph predeceased her in 2010.

She is survived by her seven loving children: Joe of Fairview Village, Paul (and wife Cindy) of East Greenville, Joan Gehman (and husband John) of Barto, Peter (and wife Nancy) of Spring City, Teresa Harple (and husband Jim) of Bally, Connie of Temple and Michael (and wife Colleen) of Leesburg, VA. Sylvia is also survived by her dear younger sister Pauline Cychowski of Germantown, TN.

Sylvia was a respectful daughter, a loving sister, a caring friend, a devoted wife, a wonderful Mother, a good-natured Aunt, a favorite Mother-in-Law, a cherished Grandmom to 14 grandchildren and a beloved Great Grandmom to 15 great grandchildren. She was a homemaker, had an artistic eye and many creative talents, enjoyed camping and boating with her husband and family, gardening, bowling, and cheering on the Philly sports teams. She loved to pass time with crossword puzzles and word games. Sylvia had a strong faith and believed in the power of prayer.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 10:00 AM from the Visitation B.V.M. RC Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403. Fr. Michael Saban will celebrate the Mass.

Family and friends may call on Monday morning from 9:00 to 9:45 AM at the church.

Interment will take place in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, immediately following the Mass.
