Obituary of Ann Lindholm

Ann (Lundquist) Lindholm, 84, of Doylestown, PA passed away peacefully on July 3, 2017 at her daughter’s home. 

She was born in Williamsport, PA on June 14, 1933, the daughter of Benjamin Lundquist and Edith (Johnson) Lundquist.  She was married to Ensign John Victor Lindholm on April 22, 1957 (47 years) at Salem Lutheran Church in Williamsport where their service was officiated by her brother Rev. Charles Lundquist. Ann and John met while working at Camp Cornplanter, a Lutheran summer camp in western Pennsylvania.

Ann and John lived in Charleston, S.C. from 1957 – 1959, West Orange and Middletown, NJ from 1960 – 1972, and Yardley, PA from 1973 – 1975. They were residents of Sherman, CT from 1975 – 1992, then lived in Richmond, VA from 1992 – 2001, and Macungie, PA from 2001 until Ann moved to Doylestown in 2009. 

Ann received a BA in Special Education in 1955 from Augustana College, Rock Island, IL and a Master of Divinity degree from Yale University, New Haven, CT in 1991. She was a member of the American Association of University Women. Ann’s professional career began as a special education teacher in the Lycoming County, PA School District.  She taught speech and special education in the Middletown, NJ School District.  In Sherman, she partnered with Irene Donohoe to own and operate a gift shop/hardware store called Sherman Hardware/Stock-in-Trade. She was a former member and President of the Sherman School Board, and an active member of Paradise Falls Lutheran Association of Cresco, PA, where she loved managing the “Tea Room” and delighted in the fellowship there. She lived a life of social change by leading through love. She was passionate about civil rights, global human rights, cultural exchange programs, inter-faith communities, all things related to animals and being a Mor-Mor to her grandchildren and many others she loved as her own.

Ann is survived by her children: son, Scott B. (Linda) Bruslind of Lebonan OR; daughter, Kristy (Kevin) Knabe of Doylestown; son, John E. (Mary) Lindholm of Sterling MA; brother, Rev. Charles (the late Ilene) Lundquist of Youngstown OH; her cousin, Barbara (Dennis) Anderson of Omaha NE and her late cousin Carol’s husband, Terry Hudson from Sioux City IA, her 11 beloved grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.                

A Memorial Service celebrating Ann’s life will be held at Paradise Falls on August 12, 2017 at 11:00 am.
