Obituary of Lorle P. Wolfson

Eleonore ("Lorle") Patzau Wolfson of Bryn Mawr, PA died unexpectedly but peacefully on December 8, 2017 of natural causes in the company of her husband, Bertram Wolfson and her two children Kyra Jorgensen Delaware and Roderick Wolfson. Lorle was known as a twin and for her creativity, modesty, and helpfulness to others. Lorle and her twin sister, Marietta Bushnell Boyer (who predeceased her), were born July 26, 1932 in Vienna, Austria to Christl and Otto Patzau. The family fled the Nazis in 1938 and came to Villanova, Pennsylvania to live. Then Lorle and Marietta attended and graduated from the Agnes Irwin School. Lorle went on to Pembroke College where she met her future husband who was at Brown University. She graduated from Boston University as the couple had moved to Boston so Bert could attend law school. They were married September 4, 1953 on the Main Line where they settled in Ithan, PA . Lorle's creativity was expressed in her daily life from table center pieces and cooking to needlework and knitting. When her children were teenagers, she obtained her MS in Interior Design from Drexel University. Lorle worked as a commercial interior designer for several firms in Philadelphia in the role of Resource Coordinator as it provided opportunities to collaborate in the design with other designers. This expertise led to her establishing her own resource consulting business, Resourcing, which connected other designers with products and their representatives. Lorle's creative skills also flowered for many years at the Main Line Unitarian Church in Devon, PA where her volunteer activities included animating the plain, modern front backdrop of the Main Meeting Room with a collage of objects tied to the sermon topic. Lorle's giving nature found expression in many ways. Throughout her life, she helped people new to America – serving as a host family for many foreign students, and as a board member and in many volunteer roles for Philadelphia's Nationality Service Center which serves immigrants. Lorle is survived by her husband Bertram, children Kyra and Roderick, five granddaughters - Courtney, Alexa, and Lauren Jorgensen, and Charlotte and Lydia Varcoe-Wolfson; and her brother, Thomas Patzau. All are welcome to attend the memorial service celebrating Lorle which will be held on January 13, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Main Line Unitarian Church, 816 South Valley Forge Road, Devon, PA. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to donate in Lorle's name to the Main Line Unitarian Church (www.mluc.org).
