Obituary of Regina McCabe

Regina (Cione) McCabe of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Einstein Medical Center, Montgomery in East Norriton, Pa., after a long illness with her family at her side. She was 73. She worked with the medical records departments of the former Sacred Heart Hospital and retired from the former Montgomery Hospital of Norristown. She was previously employed as an office worker with the former Tose Trucking Co. of Bridgeport, Pa. A lifelong area resident, Regina was born in Norristown, Pa., on Oct. 4, 1941, a daughter of the late Nicholas & Rita (Salamone) Cione. She was a member of Holy Saviors and Mount Carmel Catholic Church of Norristown. She was a graduate of the Class of 1959 of the former Bishop Kendrick High School of Norristown, and she was, also, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mount Carmel Club of Blackhorse. Regina enjoyed going to the area casinos, and she enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Regina was the loving wife of the late Kenneth F. McCabe. She is survived by her daughters Colleen Scafidi of Flourtown, Pa., and Kathleen Levins of Plymouth Meeting, Pa.; her son, Kristopher McCabe of Plymouth Meeting, Pa.; a sister, Elaine (Tony) Picard of Conshohocken, Pa.; two brothers, Nicholas (Fran) Cione of Plymouth Meeting, Pa. and Ronald (Madeyln) Cione of Lafayette Hill, Pa.; brother-in-law Dennis (Marie) McCabe of Plymouth Meeting, Pa.; grandchildren Danny (Margie) Briana, Anthony, Noelle and Alyssa; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori McCabe. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at 9:30 AM from the Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church, 454 Fairfield Road, Plymouth Meeting, Pa 19462. Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00 PM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton Pa., and Wednesday morning from 8:30– 9:20 AM at the church.
