Obituary of John J. Gravinese

John J. Gravinese, Sr., age 63, of Norristown, PA passed away peacefully on February 3, 2016 at his home after a long illness. He was born in Norristown, PA on February 26, 1952 and grew up in Conshohocken. He was the son of the late Raymond & Jane (McDade) Gravinese, Sr. John attended Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School and was a retired truck driver for Mastracola Trucking in King of Prussia. John was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps., stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. Above all, John was a loving and caring man that treasured spending time with his family and friends. His charm and charisma could light up a room. You always knew when he was around with his unique sense of humor. John and Marie were each others “Endless Love”. In his younger years, John enjoyed working on cars. He loved to travel with his wife, camping in their RV with his friends, and watching old TV Westerns, Dean Martin and the Phillies. John also had a special love for dogs and cats. Survivors include his devoted wife of 39 years, Marie (Drapikoski) Gravinese, son John J. Gravinese, Jr. of Conshohocken, PA; sister, Sophia (Joseph) Bartucci of Marco Island, FL; loving Godmother, Aunt Stella (Gravinese) Wesley of Conshohocken, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by his two cats, Missy and Boots, who adored him. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Philip, Raymond Jr., and baby Michael Gravinese, as well as a nephew, Patrick Bartucci. His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 10:30 AM from St. Matthew’s RC Church, 219 Fayette Street & 3rd Ave Conshohocken, PA 19428. Friends may call on Friday Evening, February 12, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken PA 19428 and Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Marie Gravinese, c/o 300 Fayette Street Conshohocken , PA 19428 to assist with final expenses.
