Obituary of Adam Joseph DePietro

Adam J. DePietro  

Adam Joseph DePietro, 90, of Conshohocken, PA passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020.  He died peacefully at home, surrounded by love.

He was born in Conshohocken, PA on May 7, 1930, the son of the late John and the late Lucetta ( Lincul ) DePietro. Adam lived most of his life in Conshohocken, PA, where he was born and raised. He was a devoted member of St. Helena's RC Church of Blue Bell, PA.

Adam graduated from St. Matthew’s high school in Conshohocken,  where he played on the football and baseball teams.  He met the love of his life Kathleen in the summer between 10th and 11th grade.  They married in September 1955.

Adam joined the US Air Force in 1948, where he served as staff sargent in the Korean War.  During his 5 years of service, he spent 3 years in Japan as an aircraft mechanic.

After the Air Force, Adam worked in helicopter assembly, steel fabrication, and ultimately in elevator construction. He worked for General Elevator for 35 years.  Adam was a man of great faith.  He loved his church, and loved being able to support his favorite Christian, Children’s and Native American charities.  Adam was a mechanical genius, he could fix almost anything, and he loved to help others with his talent. He loved listening to big band music, tending to his vegetable garden, playing golf and watching his cowboy movies.  But most of all, he was devoted to his family.

Adam was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen ( Wilson ) DePietro.

Survivors include, Son Mark (& Linda) DePietro of Harleysville, PA, Daughter Mary DePietro of Trooper, PA, Son Matthew (& Mary) DePietro of Lancaster, PA, Daughter Ann Marie DePietro of Limerick, PA, Son John (& Heather) DePietro Cleveland, OH, also survived by his 12 grandchildren Anthony, Katie, Robbie, Sean, Megan, Joelle, Adam, Bobby, Rachael, Stephanie, Justin and Luke, and great granddaughters Harper, Luna, Summer Rose and Annelise.

Along with his wife and parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers David DiPietro and Victor DePietro and a sister Mary Gambone.

His Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Helena RC Church, 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422, Blue Bell, PA 19422.

Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at the church.   

Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.  

Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to: St. Helena's RC Church, 1489 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
