Obituary of Charles J. Monastero

Charles J. "Charlie" Monastero, Sr., 74, of Norristown, PA, passed away on April 25, 2016, with his family by his side. The only son of the late Charles and Margaret (Molyneaux) Monastero, he was born in Norristown, PA on January 28, 1942 where he resided until his passing. Charlie proudly served our country in the United States Navy for four years. Charles worked 12 years with the sales department of Wrona Pontiac and Cadillac of Quakertown, PA, which later became Ken Carr GMC Cadillac, where he worked for 21 years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was a graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School. He was active with PAL. He coached multiple sports that included; Norristown Midget Football League, the Freshman Football team at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, basketball for the former Bishop Kenrick High School and the YMCA. He was the loving husband of 54 years to Grace (DeNolfi) Monastero. He was a devoted father to his sons; Charles John, Jr., Eddie (Krista) and his daughter, Cheryl (Larry) Meoli. He's also survived by his sisters; Catherine Torok, Peggy Malescio and was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Helman. Charlie was the proud grandfather of his seven grandchildren; Laurence, Charles John, III, Matthew, Christine, Eddie, Ricki & Joanna, along with his two great grandchildren Holden and Rian. Charlie adored all of his nieces and nephews and especially his sister-in-law, Marie Pergine (Frank), his brother-in-law, Charles DeNolfi (Linda). His Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Paul's Church, 2007 New Hope Street, Norristown, PA 19401. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at 9:00 AM followed by mass at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private.
