Robert was a life-long resident of West Conshohocken. He honorably served in the Army as a member of the 43rd Infantry during the Korean Conflict. He was a sports fan and also enjoyed watching and feeding birds at his home.

Obituary of Robert L. Baxter

Robert L. Baxter, 86, of West Conshohocken, PA passed away on July 16, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in West Conshohocken on December 5, 1929 to the late Christopher and Valeria (Gryczka) Baxter. Robert was a life-long resident of West Conshohocken. He honorably served in the Army as a member of the 43rd Infantry during the Korean Conflict. Robert worked as a Traffic Specialist for Penndot for 36 years. He was a sports fan and also enjoyed watching and feeding birds at his home. Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Thelma E. Baxter. Survivors include his three daughters, Elaine (the late Frederick) Rollo of King of Prussia, Kathleen Harker of Philadelphia, Kimberly (George) Volandt of Norristown, daughter in law, Linda Gambocurta of Plymouth Meeting, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by two sons, James S. Baxter and Robert L. Baxter, Jr., and a sister, Florence Gillen. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 10:30 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken PA 19428. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM & Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 9:30 to 10:30AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, PA Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: American Diabetes Association, P.O.
