Obituary of Helen E. Moyer

She was born in Norristown, PA on August 20, 1952, the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Trzcinski) Zlobinski.

Helen was raised in Trooper before moving to Oaks in 1978 after her marriage.  She was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, serving in several volunteer capacities.  She received her Bachelor's Degree from Gwynedd Mercy University before earning Master's Degrees from both Chestnut Hill College and Rider University.  Her 34 year career as a Teacher for the Colonial School District included years of service as coach of track and tennis teams. 

Helen was an avid golfer and active member of RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve.  She represented RiverCrest as Chairwoman to the Womens' Golf Association of Philadelphia and was a Course Rater for the Golf Association of Philadelphia.  She often competed in tournaments held at many of the member clubs throughout the year.

Helen was also an accomplished skier and enjoyed traveling to different ski destinations around the world with her husband Dick.  They especially enjoyed skiing the mountains of Utah where she and Dick spent most of their winters in retirement.  Additionally, she enjoyed sailing, racing competitively as a member of the International Lightning Class Association.  When not racing she and Dick spent many years sailing together to destinations from Maine to the Caribbean.  In her younger years, Helen enjoyed playing tennis and played field hockey for Gwyned Mercy University.  She loved spending time outdoors, especially gardening.  She was also a voracious reader and member of several book clubs. 

Helen is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard R. "Dick" Moyer; brother, John (Marguerite) Zlobinski; and two sisters, Ursula Campman and Mary Zlobinski (Randy Raynor).  She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Amber, Philip, Thomas, Rachel, Stephanie, Mike, Jodi and John Jr.; as well as grand nieces and grand nephews. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 22 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 2725 Egypt Rd, Audubon, PA 19403.  Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on the morning of the Service from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church. 

Interment will take place in Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery, Valley Forge, PA on a separate date for members of the immediate family.
