Obituary of Richard H. DiMaio

Richard H. DiMaio, age 80, of King of Prussia, PA passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025.

He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 12, 1944, the son of the late Herbert and Edna (Smith) DiMaio.

Rick was raised in South Philadelphia and has been living in King of Prussia for 47 years.  He was a proud graduate of Muhlenberg College (class of ‘66) and Villanova University School of Law (class of ‘69). He enjoyed a long 41 year career as a Criminal Defense Attorney for the Defender Association of Philadelphia. He was driven by his passion to be in the courtroom. His success early in his career and his dedication to training other young attorneys led him to the position of Chief of Major Trials. Outside of work he enjoyed time being with his devoted wife of 47 years. He was captivated with the sport of tennis whether it was playing, watching, or teaching his son. He loved being at the Jersey Shore, reading books, and listening to music. 

He is survived by his wife, Linda R. DiMaio of King of Prussia; son, Richard (Meghan) DiMaio of Collegeville; two step daughters, Dina (Rick) Bray of Gilbertsville and Jeannine (Pete) Burke of Collegeville; and seven grandchildren, Jack, Ava, Leo, Alexis, Christopher, Riley and Ryan.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews.  


Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Herbert DiMaio.    

Services and interment will be private at a later date in Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery, Valley Forge, PA.
