Mary Jo Katona

Mary Jo Katona, 62, of Plymouth Meeting, PA passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 14, 1962, the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Quinn) Zamichieli.

Mary Jo was a graduate of Archbishop Kennedy High School. She worked as a Teaching Aide in the Colonial School District for the past 25 years. Mary Jo was also very active in the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians serving as the Vice-President of the LAOH as a member of the Notre Dame Division II and the Montgomery County group.

Survivors include her daughter, Kristin Zamichieli; two sons, James (Jamielynn) Katona III and Michael Katona; three grandchildren, James Katona IV, Edward Katona, and Kennedy Quinn Katona; sister, Carol (Tim) Herrera; three brothers, John "Skipper" (the late Jane) Zamichieli, Bobby (Cindy) Zamichieli, and Jim (Melanie) Zamichieli as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Gabrielle Michelle Katona.

Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 10:30 AM from Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home or on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Funeral Home before the start of the funeral service. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
