Obituary of Thomas A. Petrecz

Thomas A. Petrecz, age 78, of Trappe, PA passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Norristown, PA on February 19, 1947, the son of the late George and Mary (Wanczyk) Petrecz.

Tom has been living in Trappe since 1976, formerly of Swedeland, PA.   He was a parishioner of St. Eleanor’s RC Church.  He enjoyed surfing, photography, fishing and going to the casinos.  Tom was also a Phillies and Eagles fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. 

He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

 Tom was a Design Draftsman at an engineering firm and was also a part-time wedding photographer.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Claire Petrecz (née Lewandowski) of Trappe; son, Thomas (Tricia) Petrecz of Phoenixville; two daughters, Sandra (Stephen) Fosbenner of Phoenixville and Christine Rhoads of Gilbertsville; and brother, George (Maryann) Petrecz of Collegeville.  He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jacob Rhoads, Lauryn Fosbenner, Evan Petrecz, Gabriel Petrecz and Ryan Fosbenner. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Petrecz. 

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA 19426.  Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be private at a later date in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the SPCA, 1059 Sweisford Rd, Perkiomenville, PA 18074.
