Joseph C. Wolfington, age 72, of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 after a long illness.

Joe was born on May 27, 1953 and was a lifelong resident of the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Roxborough High School. Joe served as President of the Roman Catholic High School Fathers Club from 2007 until 2012. Roman Catholic’s Alumni Association honored Joe with the Loyalty Award for his dedication to the school. Joe retired in 2017 after 46 years working for SuperFresh (A&P, Acme), where he was loved by his many colleagues. Throughout his life Joe had a passion for handiwork. Not only did he make countless improvements to his own home, but also was willing to work on the homes of friends and family. He loved spending time vacationing in North Wildwood, NJ. Joe was always eager to strike up a conversation, whether it be with a friend, acquaintance, or passerby.

Above all, Joe was a dedicated family man. He loved and is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lisa (Alfe) Wolfington, children Allison, Joseph F., Justin (Ana), and grandchild Juniper.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph J. Wolfington, mother, Helen (Antrim) Wolfington, who passed during Joe’s childhood, mother, Helen (Culbertson) Wolfington, and sister, Linda Wolfington.
