Mary F. Schmitt      

Mary F. ( McGowan ) Schmitt, 70, of East Norriton, PA passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025. 

She was born in the Bronx, NY on August 1, 1955, the daughter of the late William and the late Mary Anne (Mulligan) McGowan.

Mary has lived in East Norriton for the last 4 years, formerly of Garfield, NJ and Bergenfield, NJ where she grew up.

She was a member of Most Holy Name RC Church of Garfield, NJ where she volunteered as a lector.

She worked as a Registered Nurse for Englewood Hospital and Rockleigh Nursing Home.  

She was the wife of Robert B. Schmitt for 42 years.

Survivors include Husband Robert Schmitt of East Norriton, Pa, Son Michael (Elizabeth) Schmitt of Plymouth Meeting, Pa, Daughter Janine Schmitt of East Norriton, Pa, Sister Eileen (Bill) Stetter of Norfolk, Mass, Brother John (Nancy) McGowan of Dumont, NJ, Sister Bonnie (Frank) O'Rourke of Carrigallen, Ireland, Brother Philip McGowan of Dumont, NJ, Sister Maura Adams of Belfast, Northern Ireland, also survived by Nieces and Nephews.

Her Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM from Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main Street, Norristown, PA.

Friends may call on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the church.

Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
