Obituary of Mary T. McCabe
Mary T. McCabe, age 67, of Norristown, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Norristown on March 15, 1958, Mary was the daughter of the late Alexander and Constance (Forte) Cifelli. A lifelong resident of the area, she remained deeply connected to her community and found joy in life’s simple pleasures — time spent with family, cheering for her beloved Philadelphia sports teams, and summers at Long Beach Island, where she and her husband, Mike, created countless cherished memories together.
Throughout her life, Mary held positions at The Gateway Diner, the Norristown Area School District, and Corropolese Deli, where she became a familiar and friendly face to so many in the Norristown community. She took great pride in her work and the relationships she built over the years, always greeting everyone with kindness, humor, and a warm smile.
Above all else, Mary’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and “Nana,” whose love was felt in everything she did. Her greatest blessing in life was the love she shared with her husband, Mike — a bond built on laughter, devotion, and nearly four decades of partnership. Together, they raised two children she was immensely proud of and found endless joy in watching them build families of their own. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Michael J. McCabe of Norristown; her children, Michael J. McCabe, Jr. (Jessica) of East Norriton and Dana (Aaron) Levy of Greenwich, CT; her brothers, Alexander (Terry) Cifelli and Patrick (Donna) Cifelli; her sisters, Patricia Douglass and Dolores Costa; and her beloved grandchildren, Elijah and Eliana, and she was joyfully awaiting the arrival of three more.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Cifelli.
Mary’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 600 Hamilton Street, Norristown, PA 19401. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation at the church from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM, prior to Mass.
Entombment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, East Norriton, PA.
Mary’s love will live on through her family, her friends, and all the lives she touched along the way.
