Obituary of Lula Pearl Lewis

Lula Pearl Lewis, age 96, of Conshohocken, PA passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025.

She was born in Augusta, GA on June 23, 1929, the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Brown) Tanksley.

Pearl lived most of her life in Conshohocken, PA.  She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Baptist Church.  Prior to her retirement, she worked for Litt Brothers and Strawbridge & Clothier.  She was given many awards for her devotion of a foster grandparent.  

She was the wife of the late Donald Lewis.

She is survived by two daughters, Joann Phinizy of Conshohocken and Maria (the late Hilton) Freeman of Norristown; ten grandchildren, Joseph T. Phinizy, Marlo T. Phinizy, Gina J. Phinizy, Jazmin S. Lewis, Kim Y. Phinizy, Sharday Scott, Anthony Scott, Aaron Scott, Anisha Scott and Wendi Phinizy; as well as a host of great grandchildren. 

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise M. Lewis and siblings, Mary Lou and Robert Tanksley Sr.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM from St. Paul's Baptist Church, 140 East 3rd Avenue, Conshohocken, PA 19428.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Saturday, November 8 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Church. 

Interment will take place in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.
