Obituary of Philip M. Franchella

Philip M. Franchella  

 

Philip M. Franchella, 82, of Conshohocken, PA passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025

He was born in Philadelphia, Pa on March 13, 1943, the son of the late Michael A. and the late Eva (Patrick) Franchella.

Philip has been living in Conshohocken, Pa for about 50 years, formerly of Ardmore, Pa where he grew up.

He attended St. Mary's Elementary School and Plymouth -Whitemarsh High School.

He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, where he received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

 

He worked as a Ship Fitter Welder for US Government Department of Defense at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

 

Philip enjoyed shooting pool, deep sea fishing, crabbing.  He carried on his Father's love of always having a vegetable garden, growing vast crops of tomatoes, onions, peppers, eggplant, zucchini, which he was always ready to share.

 

He thoroughly enjoyed loading his pickup truck with bicycles to take the children and the family to the nearby bike trail.  They all have fond memories of the fun they all had with him.

 

Up until his late 70's anyone passing by the house would see him riding an ATV or go-kart around the front yard for fun in the summer.

 

He was the husband of Theresa ( Cifelli ) Franchella.

 

Survivors include Wife Theresa Franchella of Conshohocken, Son Philip M. (Lisa Marie) Franchella, Jr. of Port Royal, Son Paul Franchella of Conshohocken, Son John Franchella of Conshohocken, Daughter Elizabeth (Scott) Gahm of Plymouth Meeting, Daughter Lisa Marie Franchella of Rural Hall, NC also survived by his Grandson Harry Gahm.

 

His Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 19, 2025 at 10:30 AM from Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA.

Friends may call on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. 

 

 

Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.  

 

Philip's Family would appreciate memorial contributions to "The Franchella Family" in lieu of flowers to help with final medical expenses.
