Mary Catherine Friel  

Mary Catherine "Katie" Friel, 55, of West Norriton, PA passed away Friday, January 9, 2026. 

She was born in Norristown, Pa on July 26, 1970, the daughter of the late James  M. and the late Joan A. (Campbell) Friel, Jr..

Katie has lived in Norristown most of her life.

She graduated from Bishop Kennrick High School.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed working in the garden on her plants.

She was a caretaker for her parents ans also worked in Retail Sales.

Survivors include Daughter Ryan A. Hanley of Snowshoe, Pa, Son John A. Hanley, Jr. Tarentum, Pa, Daughter Quinn Hanley of West Norriton, Pa, Brother James M. Friel, III of  Harleysville, Pa, Sister Elizabeth Friel of Norristown, Pa, Brother John J. Friel of Norristown, Pa, Sister Patricia (Donald) Skaw of Norristown, Pa, Sister Kirsten (Mark) Pulcini of  West Norriton, Pa, and her Grand Daughter Siobhan, Also survived by Nieces and Nephews.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her Partner John A. Hanley and a brother Thomas P. Friel.

Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 10:30 AM from Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA.

Friends may call on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
