Obituary of Michael S. Malantonio, Sr.

Michael S. Malantonio, Sr., age 96, of Conshohocken, PA passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026

 

He was born in Conshohocken, PA on September 1, 1929, the son of the late Nicola (Malantuono) and Celesta (Mucci) Malantonio.

Mike lived most of his life in Conshohocken, where he owned and operated the former Nick and Mike’s Grocery store alongside his father.  The store later became Malantonio’s Grocery Store where he worked alongside his late wife Tootsie.  After owning the store, he went on to work for many years in building maintenance for several local companies.  He was a coin collector and could fix just about anything.   

He honorably served in the U.S. Army.   

He was the husband of the late Antonette  J. "Tootsie" Malantonio (née Tammaro); and was also preceded in death by two sons, Michael S. Malantonio, Jr. and John Malantonio; five sisters, Mary Indelicato, Nancy Lutz, Christine Gromalski, Clara Basile, and Rita Grauten; and three brothers, Matthew, John and Anthony Malantonio.  

He is survived by two sons, Nicholas J. Malantonio of Conshohocken, PA and Joseph A. (Jacqui) Malantonio of Dagsboro, DE; daughter, Annette T. (Jerry) Watson of Gilbertsville, PA; two brothers, Carlo (the late Doris) Malantonio and Nicholas (the late Beatrice) Malantonio; and brother in-law, Clayton Long (Rita Grauten).  He is also survived by four grandchildren, Stephanie Malantonio, Taylor Malantonio (Miles Scheese), Carly (Tim) Mattiola and Jarod Watson; and great grandson, Louis Mattiola. 

His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Monday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. 

Interment will take place in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.
