Obituary of Eileen Savryk Wilson

Eileen Savryk Wilson, 76, of Collegeville, Pennsylvania, returned to the loving Lord on January 26, 2026. Born on December 3, 1949 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; shortly thereafter her late parents, Edward T. Savryk and Dorothy R. Savryk (nee Follman), moved and raised their family in Chalfont, Pennsylvania.

Eileen enjoyed a wonderful childhood in Chalfont, where strong family values and faith were at the forefront of her upbringing. She completed her schooling at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Lansdale Catholic, and Gwynedd Mercy College (with additional education classes from Saint Joseph’s College and Chestnut Hill College). It was during her childhood, schooling, teaching, and love of the Jersey shore, where Eileen forged strong and lifelong friendships. Eileen’s love and care for others was always apparent above all.

Eileen taught 7th and 8th grade for 19 years during the day at Corpus Christi Catholic School in Lansdale, PA, while earning her degree at Gwynedd Mercy College at night. Much of her student teaching was accomplished prior to this at Saint Matthew’s in Conshohocken, PA. She was the consummate teacher; able to control a packed room of 7th and 8th graders, while allowing her caring nature to shine through. Eileen’s passion for teaching, connecting, and making a difference in the lives of young people was always noticed. Her work ethic was very strong, spending countless nights grading papers, doing prepwork, and creating lesson plans. Eileen was known to spend that extra one-on-one time with all of her students and provide not only education, but also guidance, feedback, and friendship to all of the children she was so blessed to have taught. Eileen was always wearing a smile while teaching, and had an innate ability to hold the attention of students and make learning powerful, yet fun. She would often run into former students years later and that brought great joy to her life.

Eileen met the love of her life, Christopher Mark Wilson, in 1979 at the Inn of the Four Falls. Marrying in 1981, Eileen and Chris enjoyed a full and happy life together for 43 years. Eileen and Chris shared a meaningful life together, and their daughter, Christina, was their greatest gift. Eileen and Chris enjoyed watching classic TV shows, reading, sharing music interests, and always joking together. Being a Mother to Christina was her most cherished role, and she and Christina had many precious memories built together.

Outside of teaching, Eileen enjoyed a deep faith in God, being a devout Catholic and faithful parishioner of St. Eleanor Catholic Church. She also enjoyed gardening, time spent at the Jersey shore, Motown music, crossword puzzles, and desserts. Eileen’s love of helping others was always noticed by family, friends, and strangers. She often would compliment a total stranger, call dear friends and see how they were doing, or help a person in need with encouragement or simply by smiling. Eileen was also always found with snacks and treats in her handbag, and generously she would offer them to friends and strangers alike. She lived her life with a positive attitude always, and with the most gracious heart.

Eileen is survived by her daughter, Christina. She also leaves behind her sister, Dorothy; her brother, Bob (Barbara); as well as extended family and many close friends. She was predeceased by her parents Edward T. Savryk, Dorothy R., and her husband, Christopher M.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Monday, February 9 from 5:30-7:30 PM at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home at 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA 19426. Visitation will also be available on Tuesday, February 10 from 10:00-10:45 AM at Saint Eleanor Catholic Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426, followed by her funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.

Gravesite rites will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 2025 Old Gulph Road, Villanova, PA.
