David V. Linahan  

David V. Linahan, 69, of Marianna, FL, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, on March 25, 1957, the son of the late Thomas Linahan and the late Rosemary (Nolan) Linahan.

David had been living in Florida since 2021 and was formerly of Delaware County and King of Prussia, where he grew up.

He was active in the Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. David graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School and went on to receive both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Villanova University.

He worked as a civil engineer throughout a distinguished 45-year career. David was employed by the City of Philadelphia, Yerkes Associates, and later established his own consulting engineering practice. He went on to work for Groundwater & Environmental Services. In addition, he was a principal author of professional textbooks in his field.

A devoted Catholic, David was a member of the Archdiocesan Choir of Philadelphia and later sang with the choir at St. Rita’s in Philadelphia.

David was a proud member of the Moose Fraternity, beginning in Media, PA, and later continuing in Marianna, FL. Over the years, he served in many roles, including Lodge Administrator, Lodge Vice President, Lodge President, Fraternal Director, and Chaplain. In 2025, he was awarded the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, the highest honor in the organization.

He is survived by his son, Thomas (Lisa) Linahan of Havertown; his daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Tiernan of Brookhaven; and his son, Kevin (Deanna Mary) Linahan of Glenolden. He is also survived by his brother, Paul (Mary Kay) Linahan of Collegeville; his sisters, Diane Linahan of Norristown, Jeanette Linahan of King of Prussia, and Lorretta (Timothy) Boyle of King of Prussia; and his cherished grandchildren, Tristan, Brynne, Keegan, and Oli.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Linahan.

His Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Friday April 17, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Mother of Divine Providence RC Church, 333 Allendale Road, King of Prussia, Pa 19406.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Friday Morning April 17, 2026 from 9:30 Am to 10:15 Am at the church.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken, PA.
