Giacomo "Jim" Moscariello Obituary
Giacomo “Jim” Moscariello, age 84, of Collegeville, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026.
Born in Montella, Italy on January 29, 1942, he was the beloved son of the late Salvatore and Gemma (Volpe) Moscariello.
After immigrating to the United States, Jim took a spontaneous trip to Canada to accompany a friend, where he met the love of his life, Rina - fittingly, they were both from the same hometown of Montella, Italy. This chance encounter marked the beginning of a beautiful 58-year marriage.
They settled in Norristown before moving to Collegeville in 1982, where Jim built the home that became the center of their family’s life - what he proudly called his paradise. Above all, Jim loved spending time with family and friends, traveling to the beach and going on cruises, and enjoying the life they built together. Jim was the life of every party. He loved to dance, sing and capture memories by taking photos. He was a devoted husband, proud father, caring brother, loyal friend, and a deeply loving Nonno. Nothing brought him greater happiness than his four cherished grandchildren - Tiffany, Nick, Travis, and Carson - whom he loved beyond words and spoke of with immense pride.
Jim was known by all as kind, generous, and endlessly optimistic. He loved people and never hesitated to greet a stranger on the street. His warmth and joyful spirit drew others to him naturally. He found his greatest happiness in helping others - whether family, friends, customers, or anyone in need - giving freely and never expecting anything in return.
As a teenage apprentice working in his hometown then, Milan Italy, Jim learned the trade of a mechanic, a skill that would later lead him to co-found M & R Auto Body Shop in Pottstown, PA. He had a remarkable ability to fix, build, and solve just about anything, always seeing projects through to completion. He took great pride in his work, especially when it allowed him to help those he loved most. In his final days, he shared that one of his greatest joys was working on the homes and cars of his grandchildren.
He proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Florinda “Rina” Moscariello (née Savino) of Collegeville; his two sons, Sal (Michelle) Moscariello and Jim Moscariello (Heather Paolone), both of Collegeville; his brother, Felix Moscariello of Eagleville; his sisters, Rina Moscariello and Dora Moscariello, both of Wayne; and his grandchildren, Tiffany, Nick, Travis, and Carson.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Raffaele Moscariello.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM from Visitation B.V.M. Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Eagleville, PA 19403. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Monday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church prior to Mass.
Entombment will take place in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA.
