Obituary—For Immediate Release Altemose, Arthur A., died on Sunday November 29, 2015 at Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville after a long illness. Mr. Altemose was born on May 13, 1948 in East Stroudsburg, PA, a son of the late Herbert and Evelyn (Serfass) Altemose. He was 67. Mr. Altemose graduated from Pocono Mountain High School and from Penn State University where he earned an architectural degree. He had owned his own architectural firm in Collegeville until the time of his illness. He was a former member and past president of the Collegeville Rotary Club and served on the Collegeville Planning Commission for several years. In addition he had been a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Trappe and also a member of AIA ( American Institute of Architects). In his younger days, he was a stock car racer. He was a Little League coach, a soccer coach, and a softball coach for his children. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and loved to travel. Until very recently he was able to paint, his great love. Mr. Altemose is survived by his children; Meredith Woodward (Scott) of Collegeville, Darren (Pam) of Boyertown, Jason (Jenni Edney) of Brevard, NC and Rachael (Chad) of Baltimore, MD. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Marina, Ines, Lilah, Carter, Violet, Vivienne, and Ivy as well as his brothers, Roger and Franklin, both of Harleysville, and his former wife, Beverly Altemose. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service, Friday, December 4, 11 AM at the Moore, Snear, Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Martha B. Kriebel, pastor of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Collegeville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Interment will be private. Contributions in Mr. Altemose’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 150 Montgomery Ave., Ste. 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. Condolences may be expressed at www.msrfh.com.
