Obituary of Carmela R. D'Amore

Carmela R. D'Amore, "Mela", age 87, of Harleysville, passed away on April 3, 2017. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 3, 1930, the daughter of the late Gaetano and Maria (Muraca) Savia. Mela has been living at Arbour Square of Harleysville for 12 years, formerly of Toms River, NJ and Brooklyn, NY. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and would often bake for events at Arbour Square. Survivors include her son, Joseph ( & Victoria) D'Amore of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Camille ( & John) Seraphin of Collegeville, PA; sister, Rose Mazzella of Long Island, NY; as well as six grandchildren, Christopher, Steven, Gregory, Gabrielle, Chase, and Claire. Along with her parents, Mela was preceded in death by her brother, Vincent "Jimmy" Savia and niece, Maria Savia. Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA 19426. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:30AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, Mela's family would appreciate memorial contributions made to: Grandview Hospice, 700 Lawn Ave, Sellersville, PA 18960. Carmela R.
