Obituary of Dorothy Rath

Dorothy M. (Bokoski) Rath, of Hatfield, PA passed away on Sunday January 24, 2016. Born on January 17, 1938 in Conshohocken, PA, Dorothy was raised there with her 5 brothers. Dorothy attended St. Mary's Church and St. Matthew's High School where she met and fell in love with her soul mate, Charles. They promised to spend the rest of their lives together on April 12, 1958, and are now spending eternity with each other. During their 57 years of marriage, they built a family which today consists of twelve children, eighteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Her family was the most important thing in the world to her. Dorothy and Charles raised their family in Blue Bell, PA as members of St. Helena's Church. Dorothy was active in both St. Helena's church and school, where their children attended. Her days revolved around her children's schedules and she had no greater joy than seeing them succeed. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Charles to many locations around the world and one of her favorite trips was an Alaskan Cruise. They recently moved to Hatfield, PA where they were members of St, Maria Goretti Church. Dorothy was very involved in the Creekwood Village and Derstine Run Social Committees. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Bartley and Sophie (LaSota) Bokoski. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles J. Rath. Her surviving family includes; son Charles (& Debra) Rath, Jr. of Norristown PA; daughter Elizabeth (& Stephen) Santangelo of Collegeville PA; son Daniel (& Monica) Rath of Greenville DE; son Edward (& Natalie) Rath of Gilbertsville, PA; daughter Susan (& Jon) Collins of Collegeville PA; son Stanley (& Jaime) Rath of Warrington, PA; brother Edward (& Janet) Bokoski of Lower Gwynedd, PA, sisters-in-law Theresa Bokoski of King Of Prussia, PA and Hedy Bokoski of Conshohocken, PA. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 beginning 11:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, PA 19440. Friends may call on Thursday Morning from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the St. Maria Goretti Church. Interment will be private.
