Obituary of Joseph C. Stemple

Joseph C. Stemple, Retired Police Chief of Whitpain Township, PA passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024.  He was 86.  

 

He was born in Norristown, PA on May 22, 1937, the son of the late Charles  Joseph and Philomena Marie (Vuotto) Stemple.

 

Chief Stemple lived most of his life in Blue Bell before moving to Collegeville, where he has lived for 21 years.  He was a parishioner of St. Eleanor RC Church of Collegeville.

 

Chief Stemple served as President of the Montgomery County Police Chief’s Association and the Tri-County Police Chief’s Association.  

 

He honorably served in the U.S. Army.

 

He was the husband of the late Dolores  A. (Cuthbertson) Stemple, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. 

 

He is survived by his son, Joseph (& Mary) Stemple, Jr. of Lansdale, PA; daughter, Patti (& Jay) Zubey of Spring City, PA; sister, Theresa Dundon of Fort Myers, FL; six grandchildren, Kevin (& Therese), Julie (& Colin), Brynne, Courtney (& Brandon), Sean and Claire; and five great grandchildren,  Madeline, Siena, Quinn, Connor and Dylan. 

 

Along with his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his twin brother, Charles J. Stemple.

 

His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 12:00 PM from St. Eleanor's RC Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Church.

  

Interment will be private at a later date in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA.
