Obituary of Lorraine R. Evans

Lorraine R. Evans, 92, of Collegeville, PA, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Ms Evans, a native of Philadelphia, PA, was born to the late Leonora Quinn (Clemick/Bandel). She graduated from West Philadelphia High School and pursued her interest in Office and Business Management through evening courses.  Music held a special place in her heart, and she dedicated herself to studying piano and lending her voice to various church choirs, where she met her beloved husband, the late Benjamin R. Evans, a distinguished music teacher at Roxborough High School. They were married for 19 years before his untimely death at the age of 43. 

Lorraine demonstrated remarkable resilience throughout her life. At the age of 68, after 16 years of dedicated service she retired from the Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company in Blue Bell, PA as Supervisor of Customer Service. Prior to this, she contributed her talents to the Germantown Branch of Settlement Music School for 5 years.

 

Lorraine cherished her family deeply and was preceded in death by her daughter Terry Schiele of Schwenksville, PA and her brothers Richard, George and Robert Clemick. 

 

She is survived by her daughter Marcy Sunstein and husband Charles, her son Dan Evans, and son-in-law James Friel. 

 

Her memory will be cherished by her six grandchildren: Crystal Yost (Parente), Melissa DeNardo (Hackett) and husband Derrick, Ashley Petrucelli (Evans) and husband Ray, Ryan Schiele, Brandon Evans and Sienna Schantz. She is also survived by her six great-grandchildren: Adriana, Dominick, Evan, Ariella, Mia and Luna. 

 

Lorraine will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and devotion to her family. 

 

The funeral service honoring her life will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426. 

 

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. 

 

Interment will be private in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, PA. 

 

Her legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be missed.
