Obituary of John J. Rossiter

John "Jack" Rossiter

John "Jack" Rossiter, 76, of East Norriton, PA, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA, on August 27, 1948, the son of the late Forrester and the late Anne (Donnelly) Rossiter.

Jack lived in East Norriton since 1987. He formerly lived in East Amherst, NY; Fairfax, VA; and Daly City, CA.

He was a special agent and supervisor for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he worked spy, espionage, bank robbery and other cases for 30 years before becoming a private investigator for nine years. He participated in the intense and successful 1995–96 campaign to locate the Unabomber, marking the biggest manhunt in U.S. history, at the time.

He loved spending time with family and friends, sports (fierce Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies fan), music, movies, politics, eating out, visiting places on vacation and all things Irish. He was a founding member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians’ Montgomery County, PA, chapter and was a founding member of its bagpipe band, which competed at the world bagpipe band championship in Ireland in 2000. He also visited Ireland with his wife in 1993 and then again with his wife and son in 2006 as well as helped fund his daughter’s spring break trip to The Emerald Isle in 1996.

He was the husband of Patricia (O'Shea) Rossiter for 51 years.

Survivors include wife Patricia Rossiter of East Norriton, PA; daughter Jennifer (Daniel) Cross of Hatfield, PA; son Brian Rossiter of East Norriton, PA; and brother Tom Marchese of Aston, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Daniel, Erin and Jason.
