Obituary for TIMES HERALD – WED Oct. 4

Ruth H. VanAtter, 90, of West Norriton, passed away on October 2, 2017.

She was born in Norristown, PA on January 22, 1927, the daughter of Awilda (Heavner) and Craig Casey.

Ruth has been living with her son in Royersford for the last 19 months.

She was a homemaker and also worked as a postal clerk.

She was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling in leagues at Facenda Whittaker Lanes in East Norriton.

She also enjoyed playing cards especially with her family, and rarely missed watching the Phillies or Eagles play.

Ruth enjoyed walking and for years after retirement often walked three miles per day.

Ruth was the wife of the late Hannis VanAtter.

Survivors include her son, Gary VanAtter;

sister, Marian Cornelison;

daughter in law, Diane VanAtter;

two granddaughters, Nicole Spielman and Renee VanAtter;

grandson, Matthew VanAtter;

and three great grandsons, Shane, Wyatt & Jack.

Along with her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Ronald R. VanAtter; brother, Craig Casey; and sister, Dorothy Wetzel.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401.

Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:00AM at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in Valley Forge Gardens, King of Prussia.
