Obituary of Charles R. "Bud" Dutill

Charles R. "Bud" Dutill of Plymouth Meeting, passed away peacefully at Brightview Assisted Living of East Norriton on Thursday, March 21, 2013, he was 82. He was the loving husband of 57 years of Delores (Knaub) Dutill. A son of the late John W. & Carrie M. (Smith) Dutill, he was born in Conshohocken, Pa. on November, 24, 1930. C harles was employed with The Haverford School for 32 years, where he served as a past Assistant Headmaster, Director of Admissions & was also the Dean of the faculty, retiring in 1988. He also worked with Montgomery County as a director of Housing & Community Development, retiring in 1993 after five years of service. He was a 1954 graduate of Millersville University and he received a Master's degree in Education from Temple University in 1961. He was an active member of Messiah United Methodist Church of Lafayette Hill, Pa. and he was also an active past member of the Conshohocken United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1954-1956, and he was a Drum Major of the Army Band in Anchorage Alaska. Bud was a member of Fritz Lodge # 308 F&AM of Conshohocken, and he was affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America for fifty years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and vacationing at Ocean City New Jersey for the past 50 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Chuck (Pam) Dutill of West Chester and Keith (Lora) Dutill of Phoenisville; grandsons, Josh (Samantha) Dutill, and Tim (Kathleen) Dutill; granddaughters, Emily (Jon) Tourjee, Valerie (Joe) Muckle, Katelin Dutill, Megan Dutill, and Julia Dutill; great grandchildren, Abigail and Sarah Dutill. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Whitley. A Memorial Funeral Service for Charles will held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the Messiah United Methodist Church, 527 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, Pastor Tom Ebersole will be officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:30 A.M to 12:00 P.M. at the Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions be sent to: Messiah United Methodist Church, 527 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill Pa. 19444.
