Obituary of John T. Dugan, Jr.

John T. Dugan, Jr., 68 of Philadelphia, PA, Diamond Beach, NJ, and Marco Island, FL passed away on January 31, 2018. He was surrounded by his beloved daughters, Deanna and Janene, and his dog Jaxon. John was born in Philadelphia on January 12, 1950, the son of the late John T. "Jack" Dugan and Harriet Kline. He was preceded in death by his sister, Eileen, and survived by his sister, Donna. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. John was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School. He was a devoted member of Steamfitters Local Union 420 for over 40 years and served as its Assistant Business Manager before becoming an International Representative for the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters. John retired as the UA's Director of Trade Jurisdiction in 2011. John lived life to the fullest, always with a smile on his face. He could be counted on for the best nicknames and the quirkiest sayings (fondly known as "Duganisms"). He loved spending time with friends at Joey's Pizza on Marco and the Windrift in Avalon and would never pass up a chance to "numb" a cheesesteak at Dalessandro's. His Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 819 Cathedral Road, Philadelphia, PA 19128. Friends may call on Thursday Evening from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA 19428 and Friday Morning from 10:00AM to 10:45AM at the Church. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Keystone House, 8765 Stenton Ave., Wyndmoor, PA 19038. Keystone House provided John with wonderful hospice care, and his daughters are extremely grateful.
