Obituary of Francis J. Mancini

Mancini, Francis J. “Frank” of Plymouth Meeting went home to God on Monday, April 30 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Mancini was born on March 15, 1924 in Philadelphia, a son of the late Ralph and Julia (Polenza) Mancini.  He was 94 years of age.

Mr. Mancini was a dental technician and attended Kepel School of Dental Technology but developed his skills serving as a Pharmacist’s Mate, Second Class in the US Navy during WWII.  While in the Navy he earned the Good Conduct Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal.  After leaving the Navy he worked for several dentists and eventually started his own lab.  After retirement, Mr. Mancini enjoyed his part-time job at IMS in Plymouth Meeting.  

Mr. Mancini was a gentleman and a devout Catholic and was known for his special smile.  He was instrumental in establishing several Catholic parishes in Montgomery County:  St. Helena’s, Epiphany of Our Lord, and St. Paul’s.  At the time of his death, he was an active member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Lafayette Hill.  From 1984 to 1985 he served as the president of District #6 of the Pennsylvania Association of Dental Laboratories.

Mr. Mancini was the devoted husband of the late Rita M. (Biferie) Mancinie for 63 years.  He was the beloved father of Dr. Ritamarie Mancini-Clarke and loving father-in-law of Dr. James M. Clarke, both of Worcester.  Also surviving is his brother, Ralph Mancini (Rita).  In addition to his wife, Mr. Mancini was predeceased by his sister, Olga and by his brothers, Louis and Anthony.

Funeral services for Mr. Mancini will be private.  Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 437 Ridge Pk,  Lafayette Hill, PA 19444.
