Josephine M. (Szpindor) Golas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Philadelphia Protestant Home in Philadelphia. She was 99. She was the wife of the late William A. Golas, Sr. who passed away in 1997. A homemaker, she was born in Swedesburg, PA on February 13, 1913, she lived in Conshohocken from 1942 to 2007. She has been residing at the Philadelphia Protestant Home for the past five years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Conshohocken. She was a member of the parish's Golden Age Club and she helped with the cooking for St. Mary's annual festival. Josephine is survived by sons, William A. (Barbara) Golas, Jr. of Philadelphia and Walter Golas of South Carolina; grandchildren, William, Christopher (Cathy), Andrew, Walter, Jr., Michael, Robert, Stephanie and Rea; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Maryanne; three brothers and nine sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Funeral Mass for Josephine on Monday, August 13th at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's RC Church, Elm and Maple Street, Conshohocken. Friends may call Monday from 9 t 10 a.m. at the church. Interment in St. Benedict's Cemetery, Conshohocken. Funeral arrangements are with Moore & Snear Funeral Home of Conshohocken and East Norriton.
