Obituary of John G. Lukas

John G. Lukas, aged 74, of Eagleville, Pa., passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Einstein Medical Center in East Norriton, Pa. after a long battle with emphysema. Mr. Lukas was born in Bridgeport, Pa. on March 24, 1939 and resided in Eagleville, Pa. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Loretta (Catagnus) Lukas; two sons John Joseph (Cindy) Lukas, of Collegeville, and Mark Alden (Edward Celata) Lukas of New York, N.Y.; four sisters, Anna Marie (Rich) Hunter of Pottstown, Pa., Irene (Rich) Mabry of Sanatoga, Pa., Susanne (Gary) Bowden of North Carolina and Mary Ann (James) Tarmin of Sanatoga, Pa.; two brothers, Michael (Elaine) Lukas of Egg Harbor, N.J. and Stephen (Mary) Lukas of Swedesburg, Pa. He is also survived by a grandson, Jamie Lukas, and many nieces and nieces. Mr. Lukas was preceded in death by his parents John L. Lukas and Anna (Porostosky) Lukas. Mr. Lukas was a U.S. Air Force veteran and spent much of his retirement years on his yacht at Canyon Club in Cape May, N.J. For 30 years. He was owner and operator of Alex's Pizzeria of Roxborough. John lived through his passions; attending his grandson's hockey games, hosting fishing parties and traveling through Europe with his family. He always had a joke and a kind word and was loved by all. His generosity touched everyone he encountered and he will be greatly missed. Mr. Lukas' funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton. Friends may call on Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. at the Funeral Home .Pa. Interment will be private.
