Obituary of Barbara A. Snear

Barbara A. (Ardell) Snear, 84, of Audubon, PA passed away on August 7, 2015. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 25, 1930 daughter of the late William T. and M. Alberta (Koons) Ardell. Born and raised in Ardmore, PA, Barbara moved to Conshohocken in 1947 with her family. She married George W. Snear in 1951 and they remained happily married for 61 years. They raised their 5 children in Conshohocken and resided there until 1998 when she and George moved to Plymouth Meeting. She moved to Shannondell in Audubon in 2014. Barbara was a homemaker and helped her husband, George, with the family business for many years. She also was a Payroll Clerk at the Colonial School District in Whitemarsh, PA and at Cathedral Village in Andorra. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Conshohocken, PA since 1947. An active volunteer in the Easter candy making and was a key member of (BAM) a group that you found in the church kitchen during every function for many years. She was a member of the former Banner Chapter O.E.S #149, Conshohocken, Freeland Chapter O.E.S #322, Collegeville and Daughter of the Nile. Barbara loved spending her summers in her home at Paradise Falls Lutheran Association in the Pocono Mountains. Her grandparents built one of the first homes in the association, and Barbara loved going there since the time she was born. She was a former P.F.L.A. board member and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Sitting on the back porch, with friends, looking over the lake was one of her favorite past times. Barbara also loved to sew, knit (she was a member of the St. Mark's Knit-Wits), play cards and travel. Survivors include her Daughter: Deborah A. (Ronald) Rodenbaugh of Conshohocken, PA, Daughter: Donna A. (Michael) Myers of Conshohocken, PA, Daughter: Diane A. Snear of Mountainhome, PA, Daughter: Dayle A. (Edward) Malantonio of Conshohocken, PA, Son: George W. (Maria) Snear Jr. of Plymouth Meeting, PA, Sister: Martha (Henry) Gally of Elizabethtown, PA, 9 Grandchildren: Ronald And Jason Rodenbaugh, Christopher, Jamie And Michael Myers, Elizabeth Malantonio, David Malone, George And Abigail Snear, 9 Great Grandchildren. Her Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 12 Noon at St. Mark's Lutheran Church 508 Harry Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428. Clergy: The Rev. Bryan Penman officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, from 10:30 to Noon at the church. Interment will be private in Gulph Christian Cemetery.
