Obituary of Arturo B. Birog

Arturo B. Birog (Artie), age 71, of East Norriton, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 5, 2015. Artie was born in Mabini, Pangasinan, Philippines on September 17, 1943 and was the son of the late Adolfo and Rosita (Bugayong) Birog. Artie graduated from Centro Escolar University in Manila, Phillipines and emigrated to the United States in 1973 from Toronto, Canada. He worked at Suburban General Hospital as a Medical Technologist and subsequently worked at Merck Pharmaceuticals as a Biology Technician and retired in 2013. He was also a member of the Filipino-Canadian Centro Escolar University Alumni Association. Artie was an avid gardener, and enjoyed vacationing in Virginia Beach. He was a faithful parishioner of Visitation B.V.M Church. He most of all loved to cook and spend time with his family and his beloved wife, Lorna G. Birog. Artie will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Caroline Mae Birog (South Riding, VA); son Arthur Birog (Paoli, PA); Michelle Lattanzi (Skippack, PA); Christina Joy Birog (Alexandria, VA); 5 grandchildren, Adrianna and David Lattanzi; Sonja, Breanne and Sydney Birog; and many nieces and nephews. Artie is preceded in death by his sisters Elenita Castro and Nellie Naoe. Family and friends are invited to Moore, Snear and Ruggiero Funeral Home on Thursday, September 10, 2015 for viewing from 6:00-8:00 PM at 19 East Germantown Pk. (at Hannah Ave.), East Norriton, PA. A second viewing will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 8:30-9:30 A.M followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM that will be officiated by Father Edward J. Kelly at Visitation B.V.M. Church at 196 North Trooper Rd., Norristown, PA. Interment will be private.
