Obituary of Joan A. Fox

Joan A. Oster Fox, 80, of Collegeville, PA passed away peacefully on October 28, 2015 at Abramson Center for Jewish Life in North Wales, PA after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born in Cleveland, OH on September 14, 1935. Joan worked for many years as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Chautauqua Institution, a center for arts, education, religion, and recreation located in Chautauqua, NY. After her retirement, she lived in the Collegeville area for the past 13 years. She was the daughter of the late William & Ruth ( Rubenstein ) Oster and was a proud member of a large group of close-knit Oster cousins. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved sister Norma and her brother-in-law, Jay Goldston. Joan is survived by her daughter, Andrea F. (Chris) Boardman of Collegeville, PA; her son Aaron Fox of Missoula, MT; her beloved grandchildren Nathan and Susannah Boardman; and innumerable extended family members, loved ones, and dear friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 3424 Ridge Pike, Collegeville, PA 19426. Friends and family are invited to gather immediately following the service for the sharing of great stories and wonderful memories. Interment will take place at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland, OH, in November and will be held in conjunction with a celebratory gathering of friends and family.
