John R. Caruso, age 68, of Skippack, PA passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at his home.

He was born in Elizabeth, NJ on August 17, 1951, the son of the late John R. and Ruth Elizabeth (Raymond) Caruso.

John has been living in Skippack since 2008, formerly of Lansdale and Newtown, PA.  He spent the bulk of his career working for the State of New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection.

John was a life-long Harley-Davidson enthusiast and spent many years active with the Burlington, NJ and Indian Valley, PA Harley Owners Groups.  He held several offices with Indian Valley, including Chapter Director.  John and his wife spent many enjoyable years riding and participating in other activities with these chapters.

John honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1972; he was stationed in Korea's DMZ during the Vietnam War.  He was devoted to helping fellow veterans through his involvement with the Veterans Helping Veterans group in Collegeville, and he also served as a Mentor for the Veterans Court in Norristown.  His passion for working with veterans gave him much joy and satisfaction in his later years.

Survivors include his wife, Jane C. DeWitt of Skippack; son, John Jason Caruso of Newtown; daughter, Sara (& Michael) Kochler of Washington Crossing; daughter, Claudia Caruso of Skippack;  two sisters, Barbara (& Larry) Szabo and Nancy (& Ralph, deceased) DeCristofaro, both of Spring Hill, FL; and brother, Michael Caruso of Tampa, FL.

John is also survived by five grandchildren he adored,  Annabelle Renee, John Michael, Mason Michael, Mackenzie Belle, and Caroline Jane; as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carol & Walter DeWitt of Southampton.

Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul & Dennis Caruso.

His Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401.   Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PMat the Funeral Home.
