Obituary of Thomas C. Hadfield

Thomas C. Hadfield

Thomas C. Hadfield also known as “Herc” back in high school days, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 5, 2020.

Tom was born in Norristown, Pa on February 1, 1951 to the late John and Ethel (Fredericks) Hadfield. Tom married his middle school sweetheart and love of his life, Sharon (DeMedio) Hadfield.  They would be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in April 2020.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Melissa Noel Hadfield of Exeter Township, his two sons, Thomas Anthony Hadfield of Whitehall and Nicholas Michael Hadfield husband to wife, Jenny of Gilbertsville.  He was the very proud POP POP to Danielle and Emma Hadfield.

Tom is also survived by Fred Silverwood of Norristown and John Hadfield of Schwenksville.  Tom was predeceased by his brother, Robert Hadfield.

A graduate of Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School in 1969, he then immediately followed his dreams and enlisted in the United States Army.  Tom belonged to the 101st Airborne Infantry division where he was stationed in Germany.  Tom was proud to serve his country and was Veteran with many awards.

Tom retired in 2003 from East Norriton, Plymouth-Whitpain Joint Sewer Authority as Superintendent. He loved his bourbon, whiskey and Coors Lite, which his kids always teased him about drinking.  He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed his Netflilx and chill days on his favorite chair with a jar of candy next to him. His time best spent was with his two grandchildren, Danielle and Emma.  Even on his sickest of days they could bring a smile to his face.  He loved dogs and especially loved getting licked by his grand furbabies.  Let us also never forget how particular he was about his full head of silver hair and beard.  He would insist on making sure it was looking perfect anytime he was in the hospital or even on the couch.   Anyone that knew him immediately fell in love with him. He will be forever missed
