My name is Adam Arena. I am the oldest and first grandson of the late Gasper Arena Sr. Here are my memories of him posted here. He was the best grandpop a person could ask for. He enjoyed to his neighbors who were also from Italy. He would speak to them in Italian and he spoke to them every chance he was out tending the garden. He loved tending to his fig tree. I remember helping him wrap it before winter came so the snow wouldn't kill it in the winter. He and my dad, the late Anthony Arena Sr., the oldest and first child of the Arena kids, worked on a truck that my grandfather got off a guy he worked for. I enjoyed, although brief time that I worked down at the concrete plant. My grandfather and me changed the engine out of his Cadillac. I visited him in his later years with my wife and daughter, when it seemed he just wanted to talk about the old days but recent present day things were harder for him to remember. He would always bring me and my dad things and help out when he could. He was a great man in my life and he will be sadly missed. I love you grandpop always and forever.
