Oh, my, Laurie. My heart aches for you. I did not know your mom, I am sure I must have met her along the way, certainly when you and Greg were married. But I have followed your facebook pages and photos of warm, wonderful memory-making times, at the beach, at your home, with your mom smiling and laughing, enjoying every moment fully. She looked like such fun, like a friend-mom, an adventurous grandma - like such a delightful company. It is so hard to see the good ones leave us, even when they are not our own. My love, thoughts, prayers, go out to you and your family. While it is a huge burden on the heart right now, I know your rich memories will sustain you. Love you. Karen Miller Johnson

Aunt Ruth Ann was one of the most amazing women that I have ever known. She had a wonderfully (humorous) compassion and that brought out the best in everyone around her. My cousins are incredibly blessed that she was their mom! She will be missed!!! Much love and hugs to all the Van Metres
