Obituary of Nicholas J. Matregrano

Nicholas J. Matregrano, age 70, of Collegeville, PA passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 25, 1950.  

Nick has been a resident of the Perkiomen Valley for 47 years.  He was an active member of the former Schwenksville Fire Company for 42 years, and served as Fire Chief for 10 years.  He later became a member of the Perkiomen Twp. Fire Company.  

Nick loved his family and friends deeply. He and his wife Marilyn are wine  enthusiasts and love traveling. He was a loving father and grandfather. His favorite pastimes were building forts, feeding his birds and deer, talking care of his pond, and sneaking cookies to his grandchildren. 

He was an active Steamfitter for 37 years and then a teacher for 9 years at the North Montco Career Technical Center.  Nick was also a member of the National Ski Patrol for 33 years.  Nick served on the PA Fire Commission, was a CPR Teacher and also an Emergency Medical Responder.  

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn J. (Staples) Matregrano;

son, Louis J. Matregrano; daughter, Nicole S. Matregrano (and her husband Ahmed El Gharib); and two grandchildren, Amelia Matregrano and Yasin El Gharib; siblings Lou and Rose.  

He was preceded in death by his son, Christian S. Matregrano.   

Due to the current pandemic, services and interment will be private.
