Obituary of Richard P. Nippes

Richard P. Nippes, age 86, of Gulph Mills, PA passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Bryn Mawr Village.

He was born in Bryn Mawr, PA on June 7, 1935, the son of the late Pearson and Gladys (Shaw) Nippes.

Dick lived most of his life in Gulph Mills and was a member of the Gulph United Church of Christ.  He was a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1954.  He was Co-Captain of the football team, Class Vice President during his Junior Year and was voted "Class King".  He was an avid football fan and was fortunate to attend four Superbowl games.  He was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan.  Dick also enjoyed watching stock car racing and attended races at Sanatoga and later at Dover, DE.  He enjoyed walking before becoming an avid cyclist, which he enjoyed until he was 80 years old.  He participated in races both in Wildwood, NJ and Radnor, PA.  

Dick also enjoyed travel, especially spending winters in North Port, FL and summers in Sea Isle City, NJ.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army National Guard. 

He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Nancy Nippes (nee Young) of Gulph Mills. 

Along with his wife, Dick is survived by their three daughters, Debra Davis of Skippack, Cindy (& Rob) Lucci of Collegeville, and Bonnie (& James) Lange of Culpeper, VA; 

six grandchildren, Drew Davis, Chelsea Davis, Blake Norcini, Nicholas Lucci (& Maggie Frank), Alexis Lucci & Olivia Lange;

and two great grandchildren, Damien and Braelynn.  

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Malloy, and brother Robert Nippes, Sr.

His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Gulph United Church of Christ, 100 Matsonford Rd, West Conshohocken, PA 19428.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church.

Interment will take place in Gulph Christian Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
