Obituary of Frances C. Haley

A very special woman by the name of Frances Cannon Haley passed away on April 11, 2016, which was her 98th birthday. She was surrounded by her loving family at Spring Village at Galloway, NJ where she had resided for the past two years. Fran was born in Bridgeport, PA and was the daughter of the late Bernard and Mary (Leonard) Cannon. She moved to Norristown when she married Michael J. Haley on June 30, 1951. Fran was married for 54 years to Michael J. Haley until his death in June 2005. Fran graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1936 and Valley Forge Business School after attending St. Augustine Elementary School. After high school, she was employed at the offices of Herbert's and Summerill Tubing Company during World War II in the Accounting Department. After the war, she worked at Lees Carpets in the Payroll Department. Fran loved music, piano, gardening, flowers, her grandchildren, family gatherings and especially entertaining family and friends. She was also predeceased by her brother Daniel Cannon (Dorothy), and sisters Catherine Cameron (Elton), and Peg Murphy (Joseph). Surviving her are her three children: Anne & Bill McQuaid of West Goshen, PA, Michael & Brenda (Brown) Haley of Limerick, PA and Mary Eileen & Quinn McCord of Milton, DE. She is also survived by six grandchildren -- Quinn & Patrick McCord, Paige, Michael & James Haley & Laura McQuaid. Fran will be greatly missed by her several nieces, nephews, and friends. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM from St. Paul's RC Church, 2007 New Hope Street, Norristown, Pa 19401. Fr. Harry E. McCreedy will be officiating. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:00 to 9:45 AM at the Church. Interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, Pa.
