Obituary of Judith Mae Castaldi

Judith Mae Castaldi, age 80, of Collegeville, PA passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021.

She was born on September 24, 1941, the daughter of the late Howard T. and Eleanor M. (Dougherty) Vieth.

Judy was raised in South West Philadelphia on the infamous “Upland Street,” and then lived in Yeadon before moving to Collegeville in 1976. She was married to her husband for 59 years; she was his loving wife and Gus’ “right arm.” In their retirement, the two of them had beloved dogs with whom Judy is now reunited with, Cassie and Teddie. Many of her favorite people called her Mom and Mommom, as she loved spending time with her family. Whether it was baking cookies, vacationing at the shore, playing card games, or being at every milestone event for her grandkids,  Judy was the heart of the family.  Her children were her pride and joy – she treated each of her children as individuals, seeing their potential and pressing them to achieve their very best!!  She made sure to make special memories with all her kids and grandkids!!

Judy had a large group of friends that would go on trips together and play many rounds of pinochle and bunko. Judy also loved staying active by exercising at the YMCA, where she took her grandkids for many summers. She loved the Christmas season and was the coordinator for the Christmas Tree of Giving at the Veteran’s Center for over 20 years, attesting to Judy’s aptitude to care for everyone around her. Her memory will live on forever, dancing every time the Phillies score a home run to the liberty bell’s jingle, through hearing Elvis sing, and through the many warm and cherished memories by her many loved ones.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Augustine J. Castaldi of Collegeville;

daughter, Chris (& Bob) Slegelmilch of Blue Bell,;

son, Gus (& Theresa) Castaldi, Jr. of  Boyertown,

daughter, Judiann (& Jim) Georgevich of Liberty, NC;

six grandchildren, Paul (& Kelly) Slegelmilch , Jimmy Georgevich, Jill (& Peter) Stewart, Jenna Mae Georgevich, Ashleigh Castaldi and Augustine Castaldi III;

and two great grandchildren, Brooks and Karrington Mae.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Judy’s name to: Paoli Hospital’s Oncology Center: 255 W Lancaster Ave, Paoli, PA 19301
