John Sprouse was the oldest of my dads brothers. I remember little things over the years like the Hulu grass skirts he gave me and my sister when we were very young and what I remember as his orange car with white roof. Not sure if it was really orange in color but you knew he was at Grandmas when you saw the car in the driveway. I remember when he brought Karen to meet the Sprouse family for the first time and how happy he was. In fourth grade I had asked for help in a report/project on Japan, two days later I got a package of s few of the things from when he was in the Air Force stationed in Japan. Over the years I saw him very little. But the one thing I will always remember is his laugh. Uncle John, I will miss you.

John was a member of our church Trustees for several years. Besides doing computer repairs for the church office, he participated in Fall and Spring Work Days helping to prepare the grounds for the change of seasons. In addition he helped with painting projects when we needed to spruce up specific parts of buildings. He was also an Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War.

John faithfully attended Bethel Hill United Methodist Church for many years and was a part of the Staff Parrish Relations Committee, Bugle Mailing committee and the Lunch Bunch group. Although quiet, he was a valued member at Lunch Bunch and always added a thoughtful perspective to the conversation. He aided the church secretary many times with computer technical help and advise with computer purchases. John had a quiet faith that helped lead him through his life. He will be missed.
