Obituary of Lester J. Risell
Lester J. Risell
Lester J. Risell, 75, of West Conshohocken, PA passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa on November 17, 1946, the son of the late Franklin L. and the late Ruth (Judd) Risell.
Lester has lived in West Conshohocken all of his life, and worked as a Railroad Track Foreman.
He was a member of the former Primitive Methodist Church in West Conshohocken, and served during Vietnam War as a gunner with the US Marine Corps, where he received the Viet Nam Gallantry Cross, Viet Nam Civil Action Medal, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
Lester was very active in the community and spent a great deal of time coaching youth sports, including football and baseball, in West Conshohocken, Conshohocken, and in King of Prussia.
First and foremost, Lester was a family man. Nothing was more important to him, and he spent a great deal of time hosting and attending family events. No event was too small or trivial to him, and he found great joy in being around his loved ones.
He was the husband of Elizabeth ( McCarter ) Risell.
Survivors include Wife Elizabeth Risell of West Conshohocken, Pa, Son Lester J. Risell, Jr. of Lumberton, NJ, Son Dennis Bannister of Fernandina Beach, Fl, Daughter Sonnie Risell of Mays Landing, NJ, Son Jay Risell of King of Prussia, Pa, Daughter Jessica Daly of Springfield, Pa, Son Jesse Risell of West Conshohocken, Pa, Son Frank Risell of West Conshohocken, Pa, Son John Risell of West Conshohocken, Pa, Sister Marie Wolf of West Conshohocken, Pa, Sister Irene Wilson of King of Prussia, Pa, also survived by 11 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Butch Risell, and 3 sisters Doris Childers, Ruthann Bowman and Sue Brown.
His Memorial Service will be held on Monday Evening January 31, 2022 at 5:30 PM from Moore, Snear and Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, Pa 19428.
Relatives and Friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday Evening from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
A private internment will be take place on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 9:30 AM in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, Pa 18940 (family only please).
