Obituary of Reuben J. Champagne

Reuben J. Champagne  

 

Reuben J. Champagne, 88, of Phoenix, AZ passed away Friday, February 18, 2022

He was born in Conshohocken, Pa on September 3, 1933, the son of the late Raymond and the late Yvonne (Librek) Champagne.

Reuben has been living in Phoenix, Az since 1977, formerly of Conshohocken, Pa.

He served in the US Air Force during the Korean war and he wore his patriotism proud.  While serving in Korean Reuben received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Korean Service Medal. 

He was a Communications Technician with Western Union.  He enjoyed his retirement traveling the United States.  

He was the Heroin of his family.  Gracious, accommodating, guick to smile, loyal, dedicated to providing a happy home with love and security.  Reuben was a very kind, loving and thoughtful man.  He vaulted all of his life's hurdles with focus and enthusiasm, regadrless of the toll those things took on his body.  All who knew Reuben loved him.  To say he will be missed is an understatement.  God truly does have another Angel and he is back by his wife Natalie's side, together again.

 

He was the husband of Late - Natalie Rose ( Smial ) Champagne.

 

Survivors include, Son Reuben Champagne, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, Daughter Desiree' (& Bill) Powell Enid, OK, Son Douglas (& Jodi) Champagne of Phoenix, AZ, Son John Champagne of Phoenix, AZ.  Also survived by grandchildren Amber, William, Rachel, Brian and Richard, and great grandchildren Christopher, Mason and Beckett.

 

Along with his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his sister Estelle Jordan and brothers Edmund Champagne and Donald Champagne.

 

His Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 at 10:30 AM from St. Matthew's RC Church, 219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA.

Friends may call on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the church.

 

Interment will follow in St. Matthew's Mausoleum, Conshohocken, Pa.

 

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Einstein Montgomery Hospice, 1330 Powell Street, Norristown, Pa 19401.
