Walter J. Kontra  

Walter J. Kontra, 83, of Upper Merion, PA passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022. 

He was born in Swedeland, Pa on March 16, 1938, the son of the late Michael and the late Rose (Raymond) Kontra.

Walter has lived in Upper Merion Twp. all of his life.

He served in the US Army.  Walter was a member of Swedeland Fire Co. And he was an avid golfer. 

He was a Steel Worker for Alan Wood Steel, Lukens Steel, and Bethlehem Steel.

He was the husband of Marilyn ( Mac Leod ) Kontra for over 60 years.

Survivors include Wife Marilyn Kontra of Upper Merion, Pa,Son Walter (& Lauri) Kontra of King of Prussia, Pa, Daughter Jacquelyn (& Daniel) Denick of Dacula, Ga, Brother Francis Kontra of King of Prussia, Pa, Sister Emma Zimmerman of Collegeville, Pa, Sister Patricia Kontra of Swedeland, Pa, also survived by his grandchildren Emily, Tyler, Nicolas, Mia and Sophia.

Along with his parents Walter was preceded in death by 2 brothers Michael Kontra and John Kontra, Sr. and 2 sisters Mae Williams and Rose Murphy.

His Service and Interment will be private in Valley Forge Gardens, King of Prussia, Pa.
