Obituary of Joseph P. Dugan

Joseph P. Dugan, age 79, of Norristown, PA passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 8, 1942, the son of the late Joseph P. and Elizabeth (Jenkins) Dugan.

Joe worked for 40 years at Wanamaker’s in Center City Philadelphia.  There he met Pat Wright, his girlfriend of 10 years until her passing.  Neither of them drove, but they got to restaurants, casinos and the Jersey Shore. 

Joe was the weatherman.  He could tell you the “in depth” weather report at any time. 

He loved all kinds of music.  Mom worried the third floor would collapse from the weight of all his records. 

Joe loved all sports, especially football and golf.  He knew all the players and statistics.  He would get up in the middle of the night to watch an overseas golf tournament. 

For the last five years Joe had a caregiver, Lynette, who truly loved him.  She took him to the doctor and made sure he had the drops in his eyes.  She went out of her way to get him the foods he loved. 

He is survived by two brothers, David (& Ellen) Dugan of Allentown and Thomas (& Helen) Dugan of Hatboro; sister in-law, Louise Dugan of East Norriton; as well as nieces and nephews. 

Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Dugan. 

His Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 10:00 AM in Westminster Cemetery, 701 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
